## About

Tatte was founded by Tzurit Or, who immigrated to the United States from
Israel. The concept started in her home kitchen and grew out of a stand at
Boston's Copley Square Farmers Market into a chain of cafés across Greater
Boston, Washington D.C., Maryland, Virginia, New Jersey, and New York.

The name "Tatte" (rhymes with "latte") comes from a family nickname: in 2007,
founder Tzurit's toddler daughter pointed at a photo of her grandmother and
called out "Tatte, Tatte!" — around the same time Tzurit was dreaming up the
bakery.

## Food & Drink

**What kind of food do you serve?**
A seasonal menu with Israeli, Mediterranean, and European influences, beyond
pastries and desserts. Breakfast sandwiches, tartines, quiches, soups,
sandwiches, salads, grain bowls, and signature shakshukas. Weekend brunch adds
sweet or savory French toast and Greek-style pancakes.

**What beverages do you serve?**
Coffee bars where baristas handcraft iced and hot coffee drinks, including
signature lattes with black sesame, pistachio, and house blends featuring
honey-halva and cardamom. Also teas, hot chocolate, housemade sodas,
lemonades, juice, and water.

**Dietary restrictions?**
Plentiful vegetarian options, many of which can be made vegan, and numerous
gluten-friendly dishes. Allergen information appears on menus, with detailed
nutritional guidance in Tatte's nutrition guide.

## Allergies & Nutrition

- Allergens are indicated on all menu items. Tatte cautions it "cannot
  guarantee no cross-contamination" since all major allergens are used in its
  kitchens.
- Uses "gluten-friendly" rather than "gluten-free" for the same reason.
- Bakeries and kitchens are **not** certified kosher.

## Ordering & Delivery

- Orders accepted in-café for dine-in or takeout.
- Online ordering available for pickup or delivery.

- **Walk-in only** — all seating is first-come, first-served; no reservations.

## Special Orders

Cakes, tarts, and gift boxes can be special-ordered for local pickup. Orders
require 48 hours to fulfill.

## Catering

- Offered in the Boston and D.C. areas only.
- Minimum order: 10 or more people, $100 minimum order value.
- Orders placed within 24 hours can be picked up or delivered from catering
  kitchens.

- Delivery/pickup items arrive packed in large white paper bags with handles;
  custom boxes are display-ready. **Tatte does not set up food/beverages or
  staff the event.**
- **Does not host private events**, at this time.

## Gift Cards

Physical gift cards sold in-café; digital gift cards available online for
text or email delivery. Usable at all cafés and for online orders, but
**not** accepted for third-party delivery orders.

## Donations

- Supports local communities through in-kind donations to schools, nonprofits,
  and community groups via an online request form; minimum 30-day
  consideration period.
- **Cannot** support individual requests or fund scholarships.
